NEW YORK, New York – December 20, 2011 – Viewpointe®, a leading provider of electronic content management and exchange solutions and services, today announced that Angie Smith, senior manager of education, was elected chair, Electronic Check Council (ECC) Steering Committee of NACHA; and Marsha Jones, product manager, was appointed to serve a two-year term on the NACHA Risk Management Advisory Group (RMAG). For more than a decade they have both participated in ACH initiatives in the industry. Smith and Jones are part of Viewpointe Clearing, Settlement & Association Services (VPCS&AS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Viewpointe Archive Services, LLC, which provides image exchange and settlement, payments solutions and ACH association services.

In Smith’s role as steering committee chair, she will work with NACHA staff and committee work groups as well as leading task forces in an effort to further the ECC’s agenda. Formed in 1995, the ECC brings together industry stakeholders to provide a forum to design, propose, monitor and promote solutions that enable the conversion of paper checks to electronic entries.
With her appointment to RMAG, Jones is a member of the NACHA body that serves in an advisory capacity to the NACHA Board on the risk management strategy for the ACH Network, assuring ongoing strength and stability and improved quality of the ACH Network; working with NACHA staff and key industry stakeholders to produce sound business practices (e.g., business cases for rules proposals, Board Policy Statements, tools, white papers and other communications vehicles); and assessing rules proposals for risk implications.

Smith, an accredited ACH professional, has more than 25 years experience in the financial services industry, predominantly concentrating in the areas of check processing and check adjustment services. A graduate of The Maryland Banking School and The Payments Institute, she holds various certificates in training and management courses and a Bachelor of Science in organization management. Smith has participated in various industry work groups, including the AAP Blue Ribbon Panel for NACHA’s Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) Program and The Editorial Board for ECCHO’s Check Certification Program.
Jones, an accredited ACH professional, has worked in the financial services industry with emphasis on payments for 18 years. She is responsible for providing ACH products, services and education to Viewpointe members; and she facilitates Viewpointe’s Third-Party Sender Roundtable. Jones is the Viewpointe liaison to NACHA, representing the views and needs of the membership. Her experience has included ACH, wires, check processing, lockbox, merchant deposit, statement processing, research and adjustments, exception item processing and correspondent account reconciliations.
